Biography
Sabina Pyne is the principal speech pathologist and founder of Spill the Beans Speech Therapy.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Sabina travelled to the USA in 2007 to study early childhood special education at the University of Vermont. Following her passion for helping children with communication difficulties, she moved to Queensland and completed the Master of Speech Pathology at Griffith University.
Sabina has worked as a paediatric speech pathologist since gaining her master's in 2015. She uses her drive for working with children to deliver evidence-based, fun and energetic treatment programs.
She understands that each child's communication needs are unique, and provides therapies that help your family members effectively communicate their wants and needs, whatever their skill level.
Sabina believes that by working closely with your family and using a range of augmentative and alternative communication strategies, we can increase your child's ability to participate in all aspects of life.
Sabina emphasizes/utilizes play for learning language wherever and wherever possible.
The belief is that parents should feel both confident and relaxed about therapy activities at home.
In an effort to create that space of comfort, Sabina will invest time with parents to impart knowledge on how best to work with their children across different environments, towards a successful outcome.
